Open Studio Exhibit + Sale to Benefit Ravenswood artist Marion Kryczka, 8/20 + 8/21

Looking East towards Uptown, oil/canvas, 52″ x 48″, (c) KRYCZKA

Marion Kryczka has impacted the lives of many students and peers through both his own art and as a much admired teacher at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I have known Marion for 24 years now, benefitting from his guidance as a young student at SAIC and his continued support and thoughtful critiques as an adult artist in our shared studio space in Ravenswood.

Although Marion’s struggle with Parkinson’s has made our Ravenswood studio inaccessible, he continues to work at home in a newly decked out space. Rest assured – more work is in the works!

Show your support and appreciation, come out and enjoy some art, wine, etc. and chat with the man himself the weekend of August 20, at our studio in Ravenswood, and August 21, at Lillstreet Art Center West Wing.

boxingBoth events are FREE and open to the public. Close to public transportation, free parking is available.

ABOUT MARION KRYCZKA

marionAs a perceptual painter, Marion Kryczka focuses on both the rendering of the objects and scenes before him, and the inherent meanings they possess. Some of these paintings portray domestic interiors and still lifes, while others explore the interplay of three dimensional art objects within a landscape or architectural space. All of the works are concerned with the discovery of the formal and the poetic potential of objects in space.
