RAW 2010 – Call to Artists

Deadline to apply: July 1st, 2010

Ravenswood ArtWalk primarily takes place on the east and west sides of Ravenswood Avenue, from Grace Street on the south to Leland Avenue on the north with other venues within walking distance. The dates are Saturday, Oct 2nd & Sunday, Oct. 3rd from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Who can apply?

  • All Artists are welcome to apply.
  • Galleries and Studios within these boundaries.

Requirements:

  • All Artists, Studios and Galleries must fill out the Application form and submit payment online or submit a check. No registration form will be processed unless payment is submitted thru PayPal or a check is received.
  • All artwork must be suitable for our diverse visitors. RAW reserves the right to have any artwork that is inappropriate removed.
  • Registration and payments must be submitted by July 1st. NO Late Entries after the July 1st deadline is permitted.
  • All participating artists are required to provide a URL for their personal or gallery website. If an artist does not have a website, we will publish your email address so visitors to our site may contact you directly.
  • All artwork must be installed on Friday, Oct 1st and removed on Sunday, Oct 3rd after 5pm.
  • All artwork must be displayed for the full weekend.
  • The artist is responsible for selling their own artwork as well as arranging delivery or shipment of any art sold.
  • Artist must provide their own tables, extra lighting and tools for hanging their artwork.

What all Artists will receive:

  • On the RAW website, each artist will be listed in alphabetical order by first name or business name with a link to the artist website. This will remain on the RAW website for one full year.
  • For those artists who need a booth/gallery/performance space, the RAW staff will make an effort to place them in the best place for their art.
  • Each artist that applies will have their name and display location listed on the RAW program map.
  • Galleries, studios and artists will receive 50 RAW 2010 Postcards to mail / distribute
  • 50 RAW brochures
  • 10 RAW posters
  • The opportunity to be in a wonderful indoor art venue.

Other

There will be some artists that may be asked to participate in a gallery sampling of featured pieces. We will contact you about this at a later date.

FEES:

  • $40 - If paid by April 30th
  • $50 - If paid May 1st thru July 1st
  • Additional $50 - RAW Teardrop / Flutter flag available for purchase

  • The fees shown above are for one artist.
  • Our gallery fee is dependent on the number of artists who will be showing at a gallery, at $50 per artist.
  • We will only permit ONE artist per application.
  • If we find that additional artists have joined the applicant, we will ask the entire group to leave.
  • All application fees are non-refundable.
  • Fees cover the RAW costs for printing, advertising, promotions, etc. All RAW 2010 staff including the Board of Directors are volunteers.
