Pamela Seatter

I create colorful oil paintings celebrating the joy of the human experience. I find inspiration in images captured by my own camera lens as well as those captured decades ago in vintage family photos. I often find myself intrigued by distortions of the human figure through water or reflection.

Pedroso Jones Studio

Pedroso – Jones Studio, celebrating its fifth year and is home to the work and gallery space for Artists Armando Pedroso and Darren Jones. Jones creates unique botanical and abstract landscape works of art inspired by nature and the world that surrounds us. The use of an emotive color palette combined with acrylics, sand, wood and recycled paper fibers create a profound message along with their interplay of light which focus on the dynamic shapes of the natural world. Pedroso deconstructs and reconstructs layers of roofing tar, plaster, found objects, metals, symbols, rich acrylics and words to create inspirational and emotionally driven paintings. Sometimes playful, gritty or with an urban feel, Pedroso’ paintings capture the essence of what an individual’s dream might look like.

Pet Collage Paradise

Inspired by Roscoe, my Persian cat, my artwork celebrates pets in fun, funky and fantastical photocollages. I do custom and original collages made of photographs, custom papers, rhinestones, faux flowers, and other paraphernalia. All of the photo elements are handcut and pasted, creating texture and dimension. People often smile or laugh when they see my work. It’s been called “charming”, “clever” and “kitschy.”

Pete Adam Bialecki

When I Paint, I try to do more than just make a picture. Every painting that I create, has a story and a symbolic meaning. My job is strictly to present a painting and hopefully inspire some type of feeling in the viewer. Whatever meaning the viewer puts to the painting, is neither right or wrong. It’s their own. Nothing more.

Peter Bialecki

To create art is a privilege especially coming from communist Poland, a place and time where self-expression was not accepted; survival and fear were the only things that were on people’s minds. For me art is a gift from above and if my paintings can speak to others, I’ve reached my goal. After 60 years of life, I still have a deep need to create, and to be even a small part of the evolution of art. I feel unbelievably fortunate and blessed to have been able to develop and tap into a deeper part of myself. The hardships of my homeland shaped me and instilled hope; my new home has provided me with opportunity. Many people wait so long to be free; some wait forever. I am glad I don’t have to wait anymore.

Peter J. Schulz

An overriding issue with my life, hence my work is time. How do we use it, how do we perceive it and how does that perception affect how we go about our lives. I make most of my exposures relatively long for photography. Minutes instead of seconds are used and because I use a full visual spectrum, I combine multiple exposures stretching out the period of time I have captured. By compressing light from a given subject over a long period on to one image, I am creating images, which cannot be perceived by the human eye. It is this “magic” that I so enjoy making and sharing with others.

Peter Kiar

After over thirty-five years of working professionally, I still have the need to pick up a camera, take a walk, and see what there is to see. It may be the structure of a city, the geometry of a landscape, or the ever changing tableau created by people going about their lives. I want to find these pictures and share them.

Poet’s Eye, Artist’s Voice

A collaborative performance of images created and projected by Scottie Kersta-Wilson, haiku-like poems written and read aloud by Carma Lynn Park, and dance choreographed and danced by Ginger Jensen. The poetry acts as music to accompany the dancer, who moves across the stage and becomes part of the projected image as she dances.

Rainbow Kitty

Art is to be seen and enjoyed. I have been drawing and painting since I was a teenager, and love to share feelings and ideas with others through painting. Art is the universal language. By day, I must work a “job-type-job” to pay the bills…but by night…I am Rainbow Kitty! I would love to share my art with you. I spent years doing angels and antique clocks. Recently, I have done many commissioned paintings for people, and last summer completed a mural at Churchill Park in Bucktown. Of late, I have started a series of works featuring Abe Lincoln with quotes of his floating in the background. I have no formal training in art, and have been told that I have a “weird, funky, folk-art style”.

Rebecca Zemans

After making sculpture for many years, Rebecca realized shrinking the scale to jewelry size would allow her to make art that is accessible to everyone. Conceptually, the designs derive from her fascination with biological cells viewed through a microscope and celestial bodies viewed through a telescope. Inspired by classic jewelry, she creates timeless pieces that are subtly different. The end result is jewelry that is clean and simple –easy to wear by everyone. It’s important for her to employ sustainable practices by using recycled metals and making everything locally in Chicago. Each piece of Rebecca Zemans Jewelry tells its own story: every blow of the hammer, every bent curve of metal, every stone collected from far-away lands becomes part of a one-of-a-kind, wearable work of art.

Richard Stromberg’s Chicago Photography Classes

Welcome to another wonderful show brought to you by Richard Stromberg’s Chicago Photography Classes. These shows display the works of students who have put the effort into refining their photographs. Richard has said, “If you take classes here and apply yourself, in nine months your work could be on our walls.” All students who exhibit start with Photo I. It gives them an understanding of exposure and beginning digital printing experience. They have also taken Photo II and Photo III. The students who go on, start the arduous 14 week journey of photo refinement. It is a very intense process, but if you ask the show participants, I think they will all tell you it was worth it. The only thing better than seeing your work hanging on the walls, finished and complete, is selling your first print

Richard Zeid

I have also always been drawn to circles, and pottery, is all about the circle. The continuum, perfection of form, its abstract meanings. I am also drawn to working in a medium that is fluid, and clay is fluid, a thick viscous fluid, but fluid. Easily malleable, changed, worked, until complete. My forms are simple, balanced and elegant. They reflect my aesthetic and principles as an artist in a three dimensional medium.

Rita Whaley - Inner View ART

My paintings are expressions of the moment, expanding into forms and ideas as my picture unfolds. I begin working with pastels, creating random colors and patterns. Opening my mind to all possibilities, different images emerge, take shape and suggest outlines and definition. Dreams, my view of the world, personal experiences and intuitive feelings all seem to find their own place into my pieces. I love the process and the surprise of letting the paintings evolve organically. To make my art more affordable, I also sell “limited adition glicee canvas prints” and “fine art archival matted and framed prints”

Ronald Stec

My first oil paintings were exhibited at 12 open-air in Kalamazoo. I graduated from the American Academy of Art Chicago in 1962. After graduating from the State University for Fine Art Kassel, Germany, (M.A. fine art/ art education) I worked in Germany as a designer & painter with numerous exhibitions as well as commissioned works. I returned to the US in 2007 devoting my entire attention to art. I consider myself a landscape painter in the broadest sense. Scenes depicting aspects of rural America prevail in my work. My attention is especially focused on the delicate nuances of nature that are manifested with the change of light and shadow. My paintings relate the diverse moods of nature and tell a story in which painting and beholder are mutually implicated.

Ronda Ruby Dibbern

Ronda Ruby has been a potter and ceramic artist for over ten years. This past year she set up her home studio Ronda Ruby Ceramics and focused on crafting ceramic lamps. The transition to creating functional ceramics has allowed for a reconnection to the ceramic craft-physically and mentally. The creation process has proved to be as rewarding as the creative process. Each step from throwing, firing, glazing, wiring, and crafting the complementary lampshades is part of the evolution of crafting a finished lamp. The process is inspired by the ceramic medium and every day materials, paper, fabric, wood and metal. The culmination of every decision creates a unique, hand-crafted, illuminating work of art that can reflect the customer’s unique style.
