ArtWalk Set-up and Tear Down Times

If you have been assigned an indoor space to display your work, you will be able to set up during the following times:

If you are located outside in a tent, you will be able to set up at:

Saturday, October 1:

  • From 8 AM until 10 AM. No vehicles will be permitted within the closed street area after 10 AM.

Tear down begins at 7 PM on Sunday - Please do not tear down earlier than 7:00 PM and try to complete tear down by 9:00 PM.

NOTE: Vehicles will not be permitted within the closed street area until the event has ended.

More information:

  • Security

There will be NO security within the buildings during the ArtWalk. The buildings will be locked at night. However, tenants of the buildings have access to the buildings at all hours. Artists may leave their work up during the night on Friday and Saturday, but RAW is not responsible for stolen or damaged works.

There WILL be overnight security in the outdoor/street closure area. Tents can and should remain set up over night. If you choose to remove your work overnight, your vehicle will not be permitted into the closed street area until the event and entertainment have concluded and security determined it safe to allow vehicles to enter.

  • Tables and Chairs

You will need to supply your own tables and chairs

  • Lighting

You are welcome to bring additional lighting for your exhibit space if there is an electrical outlet near your space. We cannot guarantee access to electricity! No extension cords may cross over open doorways or halls.

  • Elevators

In some of the buildings, an elevator may not be available. Check out your exhibit site ahead of time if possible and plan accordingly.

  • Food / Beverages / Liquor

You are welcome to bring food, snacks, and beverages for your guests, however you can not sell any liquor. All refreshments must be free. If you do bring anything, you should also provide napkins, plates etc. and be sure to provide a small trashcan. Last year, there was quite a bit of trash at the ends of hallways and in doorways to public buildings (this makes all of our art look bad.)

  • Music

Artists setup indoors may bring a radio, iTunes, etc. Please be aware of volume level as not to prevent your neighbor artists from speaking in normal voice range to their guests (and potential customers!)

  • Sign In Sheets / Business Cards / Artists Statements

You are welcome and encouraged to market your art and build your client database by having sign in sheets, business cards and the like.

  • Sales

During the event, you will be handling your own sales. As necessary, arrange for someone to watch over your space when you are not there. You are responsible for all sales taxes.

RAW will not be providing nails or other hanging materials to artists. Bring all materials and tools you will need for hanging and displaying your work. Walls should be left intact and undamaged.

You MUST use OOK brand hangers or a similar wall mounting available at hardware stores. They make a non-marring nail. 3M also makes a variety of non marking adhesives.

Safety is our number one priority! Please be careful hanging and removing your artwork. Keep your area free of debris. Tuck and tape all electrical cords and report any emergencies.

Tents MUST be properly weighted (50lbs per corner). RAW reserves the right to have your tent removed without refund if it presents a safety hazard.

  • Respect

Please be respectful of the buildings and wall space that have been so graciously donated by the Ravenswood Businesses. LEAVE NO TRACE! Please respect your neighbor artists and their space. Please respect all RAW Board Members & Volunteers; they have worked diligently and without pay to provide you an opportunity to showcase your work.
