Describe your work and what inspires you.
As Perceptual Motion, Inc.’s Artistic Director, I attempt to transform dance into memorable, inspiring experiences by creating visually stunning images. PMI dancers are aged 23 to 79, adding a unique texture to the dances. To me, Nature is the best artist. I never tire of it. A walk through a forest is a feast for the eye and a great inspiration. I love to look almost as much as I love to move. The looking feeds my spirit and informs my movement. I also love visual art. My work is often inspired by visual artists, and can sometimes be viewed as a moving painting. I have choreographed dances inspired by the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy, Marc Chagall, Grant Wood,& Mark Rothko.
Ravenswood 2013 will feature a site specific improvisation, as well as works from the repertory.
